The Zhon are an army of various beasts. They cannot build structures but they have units that can build units, such as orcs, trolls, dragons, golums. Some of the Zhon units can take the role of defensive structures(such as golums whom can throw giant rocks at enemy units(whether those units are on the ground or in the air)and it causes massive damage to that unit.
The Veruna are a race of seafaring people.Their units are weak on land but they have powerful naval units. They also have a special unit that can swim very fast because his legs will transform into a mermaid type tail when he enters water but when he goes outside of water his tail will transform back into legs instantly and he can shoot powerful magic at enemies). The Veruna dress in blue. The Taros seem to have a diabolical/evil influence and even use caged demons for base defense and they dress in black and red. Some of their units are zombies,skeletons,executioners(masked/robed units that carry long, hook bladed weapons),dark knights, and the Taros can use these giant grasshopper type creatures that can breathe fire. They also use spells that makes fire fall from the sky and they can build powerful defensive structures that shoot something that looks like magic. The Aramon are a faction whom are on the side of good I suppose. They wear bright green clothing/silver armor, and some of their units consist of knights(some of them are on horses)and they later have the ability to use gunpowder for cannons. Just like in the original TA and most other RTS games, there's many missions where you can build a base, and build up an army of units. The units in TA Kingdoms take influence of medieval/fantasy ideas. There is 4 different factions in the game.
In TA Kingdoms, the only resource you'll need to collect is mana, and you'll be able to extract mana from lodestones, which are scattered throughout the maps(the same way metal extraction areas were scattered throughout the maps in the original TA).Also, just like in the original TA,when you extract a resource, you'll be able to extract an unlimited quantity of it at a certain rate. When you build units and structures,it depletes your mana and you'll have to wait for more mana to be extracted to continue building units/structures,but you can take posession of more lodestones,so you'll have more mana to work with. By ZanarkandTidus | Review Date: AugI loved playing the original Total Annihilation game and when I saw a review of Total Annihilation Kingdoms,I was keen to buy it,even though it's reviews weren't that great, because the idea of the TA style RTS game based in a medieval/fantasy world sounded very appealing to me.In the end,I think TA Kingdoms is a fun but flawed RTS game, which has some lovely presentation and creative unit designs, but some of the mission designs are frustrating or poor.Īt the beginning, you'll be shown lovely cinematics with dragons flying around and beautiful scenery.
